Two Sandford International School students receive full four year Questbridge Scholarships

Two Sandford International School students, Abiyan Teferra and Iyassu Abraham have been recipients of the prestigious Questbridge 2021 Match Scholarship program. Both Abiyan and Iyassu have received full four-year scholarships to Tufts University in the United States.

Questbridge is a nonprofit organization located in Palo Alto, California that connects high-achieving, low-income and first-generation students with the opportunity to gain admission to some of the most highly recognized and ranked colleges and universities in the United States.

Questbridge was founded in 2004 with the goal to match high school students with 45 partner universities in the United States, providing the recipients with full four-year scholarships. The scholarship program focuses on the individual student’s academic success and achievements, both inside and outside of the classroom.

The process for obtaining the prestigious Questbridge Scholarships begins during the summer before Year 13 with an application process. After a careful and thorough application review and selection, finalists submit their final documentation to universities for review. Universities make their final decisions and notify scholarship winners on December 1st.

Both Abiyan and Iyassu are excited by the award and the opportunity. We could not be prouder of them for the dedication, perseverance, and resilience they have shown during the entire process. Congratulations to them both on this remarkable accomplishment.
